high holy week

In honor of the week leading up to the Most High of Holy Days, St. Patrick's Day, I will be posting all kinds of Celtic--Scottish and Irish, thoughts, poems, prayers, art, etc. so that we can better understand the greatest civilization that has ever lived: The Celtic World (that world being spread predominantly over two nations: Ireland and Scotland).

The picture to the right is from the Book of Kells, arguably one of the most beautiful illuminated texts of all of Christendom. There is no piece of artwork that is duplicated and the entire work was done by hand by Celtic Monks on the Isle of Iona.
I hope you have a great High Holy Week and that the wisdom and love and history of the Irish and Scottish peoples would bless you. After all...God did create whiskey to keep the Irish from ruling the world.

You are the peace of all things calm
You are the place to hide from harm
You are the light that shines in dark
You are the heart's eternal spark
You are the door that's open wide
You are the guest who waits inside
You are the stranger at the door
You are the calling of the poor
You are my Lord and with me from ill
You are the light, the truth, the way
You are my Saviour this very day.

Wow! I'm loving the new design. You are just so talented :) I'm sure your ancestors would be proud. I enjoyed the poem a lot also. I've never been so excited about St. Patrick's Day before!

Hi...I'm getting excited about St. Patricks Day as well. Unfortunately I don't know as much about my heritage as you do.
